Originally conceived as Java Ira Business Suites, the identity began as a restrained contemporary hospitality system. When the hotel was renamed Jay Bhoomi, the brief shifted: the new name called for an identity closer to the aspirations of the client and more deeply situated in its place.
Jay, meaning victory, became the starting point. Two abstract dhwaj, or victory flags, are composed to trace the Devanagari forms of जय, transforming language into an emblem. Bhoomi brings the identity back to the land. Its palette draws from the deep reds, burnt earths and muted ochres of Odisha's Sambalpuri textiles and laterite soil. The resulting identity moves from the generic language of a business hotel towards one grounded in land, culture and belonging.
