Suchitra GhoshSuchitra Ghosh, an alumna of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, worked in Köln and Hannover, Germany for several years before returning to India. During her time in Germany, Suchitra Ghosh focused on planning level projects at the city level. While this contrasted starkly with her work focus upon her return to India in 1969 and her work experience at M/s. Bose Brothers prior to her experience in Germany, it gave her the foundation for a discipline through which any project, no matter how complex, could be broken down into manageable bits. Her fruitful collaboration with partner and spouse, Sumit Ghosh led to the successful completion of intensely detailed and technically demanding buildings such as the Sitaram Bhartia Institute for Science and Research, American Express Resource Centre and the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited Corporate R&D Centre and more recently, the extension to the India International Centre in New Delhi. She, along with Sumit Ghosh, won numerous national awards including the Architect of the Year Award in 1994. |
